What we collect

Technical data that our hosting provider may log automatically, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and reliability.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website. We do not currently run advertising pixels, analytics tags, or an AI chat or quote estimator on the public site.

How we collect it

Directly from you via the website contact form, email, or phone.
From people acting for you (for example a property manager or builder).
Automatically, in limited server and security logs when you visit the site.

Why we use it

We use personal information to:

Respond to quote requests and other enquiries.
Provide plumbing, heating, hot water, and ventilation services.
Schedule visits, prepare quotes, and communicate about jobs.
Meet legal, licensing, health and safety, and tax obligations.
Protect the website against abuse and keep it running.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for unrelated marketing lists. If we ever send optional updates, we will only do so with a lawful basis and a way to opt out.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run the business and the website:

Email delivery (Resend). Quote form submissions are emailed to us. Resend processes that message so it can be delivered.
Website hosting (Cloudflare). The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical data to serve pages, provide DNS, and help with security.
Content (Sanity). Public site content (projects, team, settings) is stored in Sanity. That CMS is not used to store your quote-form details.
Maps (Google). The contact page embeds a Google Map of our Blenheim address. Google may collect data under its own privacy policy when that map loads.
Professional advisers, insurers, or regulators if required by law or to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
Subcontractors or suppliers only where needed to carry out agreed work.

Some of these providers are based outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps so information is protected in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

Cookies and similar technology

We do not set our own advertising or analytics cookies. The host or security layer (Cloudflare) and embedded services (such as Google Maps) may set strictly necessary or third-party cookies. You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect how embeds work.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails and job records are kept for as long as needed to respond to you, complete work, meet accounting and legal requirements, and handle any follow-up or warranty issues. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations. We then delete or securely archive information in line with our usual business practice.

Security

We use HTTPS, access-controlled email, and reputable processors. No internet transmission is completely secure. Please do not send sensitive payment or identity documents through the public quote form.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request to:

Access personal information we hold about you.
Correct information that is wrong, incomplete, or out of date.

Send requests to info@mph.co.nz. We may need to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging trade work. We do not knowingly collect information from children for marketing.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you should read the new version.
